A stabilized austenitic stainless steel with at least five times as much titanium added as Type 304, Stainless Steel 321 Seamless Pipes is an alternative to Type 304.
Although Stainless Steel 321 Welded Pipes resemble Type 304 stainless steel, they include at least five times as much titanium as carbon. As a result of welding or exposure to high temperatures, precipitation of chromium carbide is reduced or eliminated by this addition. Stainless Steel 321 Pipes are appropriate in applications where Stainless Steel 304 will get sensitized or where Stainless Steel304L lacks enough hot strength due to its resistance to sensitization and higher strength at high temperatures.
